It’s very easy to add plugins to WordPress, and a few of them are definitely essential. One I think is just great is the related links plugin. This will create a fulltext index on certain fields so that related links are automatically appended. This is nice for the random surfer who comes in from a search engine and likes the article. S/he may be encouraged to surf your website further.

The WordPress Plugins DB is well worth a look. They have a great number of Plugins on almost every subject. You may as well experiment with as many possible, just to see which ones make your blog perform the best.
